About Space Invaders

Space Invaders was developed by Tomohiro Nishikado and released by Taito in 1978. It was one of the earliest and most influential fixed-shooter games. The alien invaders descend in formation toward Earth and the player must shoot them all before they reach the ground — while avoiding their return fire.

How to Play

  • Use ← → Arrow Keys to move your cannon left and right
  • Press Space to fire at the alien invaders
  • On mobile, use the on-screen touch controls
  • Destroy all aliens in each wave to advance to the next level
  • Use the barrier blocks as temporary shields against alien fire
  • Aliens move faster as their numbers decrease — stay focused!
