About Wordle

Wordle was created by software engineer Josh Wardle as a gift for his partner and released publicly in 2021. It went viral globally in early 2022 and was acquired by The New York Times. The challenge: guess a five-letter word each round using color-coded feedback on each attempt.

How to Play

  • Type any 5-letter word and press Enter to submit
  • Green — the letter is in the correct position
  • Yellow — the letter is in the word but in the wrong position
  • Gray — the letter is not in the word at all
  • You have 6 attempts to guess the correct word
  • Use the color hints to narrow down your next guess
